Welcome to the
Canadian Association of Freediving and Apnea (CAFA).
Freediving or breath-hold diving is a fantastic
sport that is gaining global popularity and momentum.
As the first non-profit freediving association in Canada, we aim
to further the promotion and development of the sport of freediving
both recreationally and competitively within Canada and abroad.

November Western Regionals!
Registration is now open for the November Western Regional Competition, November 22 at the UBC Aquatic Centre.
We are excited to be able to hold the first half of this competition in the 50m outdoor pool, which will be covered by a plastic dome.Join CAFA for Free
CAFA has added a new class of membership! Recreational members can now join for free and participate in the freedivecanada egroup. You still need a $25 full membership in order to register for competitons or vote at the AGM. Either way, there nas never been a better time to join. Sign up here.
National Freediving Championships
Final results are now posted for the National Freediving Championships, May 30 to June 1 in Vancouver. This was a very successful event with 12 competitors and one new national record.
Congratulations to Jill Yoneda on her new record of 150 metres in Dynamic Apnea with Fins! This smashes her previous record of 137 metres set in February.
